Our mission

Sustainable hydropower
from Tyrol for Tyrol, Austria, and Europe.

If you are striving to achieve energy autonomy, like the province of Tyrol, you need to be aware that autonomy requires both the sustainable use and the sustainable generation of energy. This makes domestic renewable hydropower a valuable source of energy in the truest sense of the word.

Mio kWh as a target
The decision of the Regional Government of Tyrol in March 2011 provides for an expansion of hydropower in Tyrol by 2036.
Following the update of the Tyrol Energy Autonomy 2050 plan in 2024, this target is to be implemented in Tyrol by 2050.

At TIWAG, we have therefore been implementing carefully planned and environmentally sound expansion projects for years. Projects to make our country's energy supply more independent, safer and at the same time more environmentally friendly. This is an important contribution to the energy transition. Using renewable energy generated from Tyrolean hydropower will secure the energy supply for future generations.

Mio kWh
of additional, clean energy from Tyrolean hydropower will be provided by TIWAG for the target set by the Regional Government of Tyrol.
